IVOD stands for Inclusive Voices for Development, a community empowerment initiative of the Ummah Initiative Group and Base Titanium, Kenya’s Premier Mining Company Operating the World Class Mineral Sands Kwale Mine.
The IVOD Community Empowerment Initiative has a Particular Focus on Stakeholder Engagements around Four Key Development Sectors:
- The Extractives Sector Covering Minerals, Oil and Gas Resources
- The Tourism Sector
- The Blue Economy Sector
- The Agribusiness Sector
Inclusive Voices for Development IVOD, is Promoting the Integration of Extractives, Tourism, Blue Economy and Agribusiness for the Economic Empowerment of Local Communities. We are Pleased to share with the global mining communities, success stories of how Kenya’s largest mining company Base Titanium has worked very closely with both the national government and county government to implement life changing projects for the local mining communities through the various gazetted community development agreement committees (CDAC).
The objective of the IVOD global mining communities’ success stories platform is to create awareness on model life changing initiatives implemented around the globe to inspire and influence scaling and replication of projects to maximise the benefits. Base Titanium is Kenya’s largest mining company pioneering the community development agreement sector regulatory framework guided by the mining act 2016 and mining regulations 2017.
Through the IVOD global mining communities platform we are happy to document and share local supplier engagement success stories through community development projects implemented by Msambweni, Lungalunga and Likoni community development agreement committees. Through the Inclusive Voices for Development IVOD platform, we are inviting contractors and suppliers of goods and services to share their stories of local community economic empowerment and skills development.
